The excitement is building. Friday marks the start of the expanded, now 2 day, Social Media Camp in Victoria BC. The first conference in October was such a success the organizers – Paul Holmes, IdeaZone and Chris Burdge, bWest Interactive – have put together a fantastic, packed two full days with amazing speakers and presentations.
You will not want to miss Jay Baer and Amber Naslund – keynote speakers on Friday and Saturday, among presentations which should be of interest to everyone. Panels and workshops range from Twitter 101 to advanced strategies, Social Media and Law Enforcement, location based systems, online safety and much more.
Ones that I have favourited are Adapting Social Media for Government, Media Meets Social Media and Location Based Campaigns – and I am looking forward to moderating WordPress 101 with John Overall, Think your boring old business can’t be social? Think again! with Tim McAlpine and being a panelist with Dr. Janni Aragon and Michael Geoghegan, moderated by Theresa Lalonde on Social Media and Politics.
Check out the Genius Bar – a new feature for the conference – I’ll be there on Saturday from 10am to 11am answering questions on Social Media best practices, WordPress and web marketing!
The best part of Social Media Camp? Catching up with the great friends made last year, putting faces to new friends made online over the last year, and making connections with the people and businesses leading the Social Media revolution!
